  CAOS will receive documents from translators or corrections by monitoring folders. Occasionally documents that were not intended to be be handled automatically or documents that have had it’s XMP meta data corrupted / deleted are received in these folders. CAOS is able move these files to a temporary area and notify the users of the problem. This is done by sending a Notification to the title receiving the problematic document. In the 3.1.6.0 update an expansion of this functionality disabled the feature. The documents were left untouched – but the users had to see the problem in the folders that are monitored. This fix re-enabled the feature.

New feature:

• Detected Edges included in Smart Alert

  When a user, in the layout process, works with “Detected Edges” in an InDesign document, it is now possible to activate Smart Alert. This feature will alert the user if ”Detected Edges” is on so he will remember to deactivate it and insert an edited picture with the proper cut-outs. As it can be difficult to spot on screen, this feature is a great help before printing.

• Updates reduced

  The last update introduced an unnecessary amount of updates sent from magWorkflow to the CAOS server. This could lead to an overloaded CAOS server while managing all the updates. The amount of updates have been reduced to the correct and needed level.
• Change of behavior
  Show more...
  A problem could occur in the integration between the magWorkflow and CAOS server when documents had their letters changed between small and big letters. CAOS would see this as two different documents. This behavior has been changed so the document is seen as being the same.

• Preview by space bar improved

  The usage of the space bar to bring up previews has been improved. Prior to this improvement the different buttons in the user interface could prevent the usage of the space bar. This is no longer the case.
• Scrolling in previews improved

  If a user hits the space bar and looks at the preview of a document the user can change the previewed document by using the up and down arrow keys. Now the selection in the document search list will also reflect this.
• Image volume improved
  Show more...
  If a customer holds InDesign documents on one file server volume and images on another volume, then the image links from within the client would not always work correctly if a user had amended the InDesign document without having the image volume mounted. Now this doesn’t matter. If the user has the image volume mounted – the links will work. Independent of whatever the previous user did to the document.
